We have a new spirit for you to try. Released on 1st October, our first ever whisky.

The inaugural release of Beckett's Single Malt English Whisky comprises just 324 bottles from cask no. 1 and is bottled at 46.8%, Beckett’s whisky will I think be the first whisky in the world to have matured in sloe gin casks. We have rested out malt spirit in American oak casks that we had used to store our classic sloe gin.

The result is a wonderfully smooth whisky that is both sweet and fruity with a long honey finish.

Glorious juniper berry harvest this year with some of the plumpest purple berries I've ever picked. They fall off the tree into the bags with the gentlest stroking and shake, leaving the green berries intact to ripen for next year's pick.

The berries are so plump that they burst like a grape when lightly pressed. The next batch of gin should be a particularly good one!

The male trees, which don't produce berries, are also looking verdant and healthy plus the insect life, particularly juniper shield bugs, are the most abundant I have evet seen in 10 years of picking on Box Hill.

I am very proud to announce the launch of our new gin - The American. We have rested our award-winning sloe gin in ex-bourbon American oak casks for 3 years!

The result is fantastic, adding bold notes of vanilla, caramel and coffee to the wonderfully rich cherry and almond sweetness. It's quite a revelation so give it a try when you get the opportunity.

It's been a lovely week picking juniper berries on Box Hill, in between the showers (I normally have better weather!)

We've picked on Box Hill for 9 years now and this harvest was slightly below average in terms of quality and quantity. However, next year should be fantastic as the trees are really healthy and teeming with young green berries which will be ready to pick in 2023.

It's our annual juniper berry collection on Box Hill this week and here's where we always start from.

We've had fine weather and the juniper trees are in very good shape, must like being picked!

It's been a lovely week for our annual juniper pick on Box Hill. Not sure whether it's down to the weather over the last year or that we have been picking berries here for the last 7 years now but this is the best harvest ever.

The berries are so plump and plentiful. Some go in the gin and the rest go to propagating new juniper seedlings so should be a good year for both gin and conservation!
