Picking Juniper Berries on Box Hill
Oct 08, 2014
We were on Box Hill in Surrey all day yesterday picking juniper berries for our next batch of Beckett's Gin and also for the commencement of our conservation project where, in association with the Forestry Commission and the National Trust, we shall propagate and plant-out a new population of juniper on Juniper Hill in Surrey over the next three years.
The weather was surprisingly glorious (look at that blue sky!) and the female juniper bushes were found to be in good shape and had very healthy crops of berries. Now we just need to pick out the last of the juniper needles still stuck underneath our nails!
